Pursue your Master's of Library and Information Sciences through the UNT/LEAP II Web Institute (May 12-21, 2016) and Online

The University of North Texas-Department of Library and Information Sciences (UNT/DLIS) in partnership with Brigham Young University-Hawaii (BYU-HI) is bringing its ALA accredited Master's degree cohort program and online format to the U.S.-Affiliated Pacific Islands(USAPI) with a second LEAP Program.

UNT/DLIS will offer twelve full tuition scholarship opportunities for Pacific Islanders living and working in the USAPI in 2016. The LEAP-II Cohort Program will educate librarians and information stewards with skills in curation and preservation of digital projects and collections. This program will increase the number of indigenous librarians among the region's professional library staffs. The twelve $20,000 scholarships are funded by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS).

Students will begin study together for the Master’s degree in Summer 2016. The Institute portion of the Master’s program will be held on the BYU - Hawaii campus in Laie, Hawaii. The Institute will include an orientation, technology training, instruction in the core courses, and time to socialize with Institute colleagues and faculty.
